Wini Smart's work has an appeal to many art lovers for its sheer visual pleasure.  Her work is widely collected both here and abroad.  Her versatile paintings are distinctly American, and her deeply rooted respect for the American Tradition of Realism is expressed in much of her choice of subject matter.

The artist feels she can better capture the essence of the subject by being true to the scene.  However, her work shows an influence of French Impressionism, especially the work of Monet.  She has successfully mastered many different paint mediums, and presents a fresh means of expression.  En plein air studies in vigorous, moving watercolor, are enlarged or translated into larger works of pleasing oil paintings.
